Hi! My name is Per Erik Jarl.  I love fly fishing and I have been fishing since I was born. I once found an old bamboo fly rod in my basement, where I grew up, when I was 6 or 7 years old. I was struck by the beauty and wanted to refurbish it. (I even tried to, but the outcome was rather disastrous). When kids my age had pictures of Maradona on the wall, I had pictures of Staffan Lindstrøm (Legendary Norwegian Flyfisher). 

I got into building rods some years ago. I wanted to use my background as a designer into the building somethings with my hands. No nonsense. Simple and functional designs.  I try to implement my love for scandinavian design in my rods using Norwegian wood, local collaboration, and nordic design philosophy, but also a great deal of inspiration from modern and traditional rod builders.

The blanks I use are both from vintage and modern manufacturers.  I have decided that I won't build rods on demand. I simply sell the ones that are shown on this site. I upload pics of the rods when I´m finished them. I have a day job as a Creative Director at Anti (anti.as). So I can be quite busy doing both things at times.

I mostly build rods from 0WT to 6 WT. But planning to build some two-hands rods in the near future. Its fiberglass and graphite and occasionally a bamboo built by skilled builders. Hardware, grips and reel seat inserts are turned in house, except for threaded hardware. I use silk for the wrappings and the guides are always single foot guides. The reason why I only build with single foots are simply that I think the design becomes cleaner and more esthetic.  I seldom do winding checks or grip checks but looking for a design that is as seamless as possible.

I never build the same design twice. I don't have serial numbers, but I name every single rod individually. If you want to buy a rod, simply send me an email. I will post the rod in a secure package.
